Volume, the honest version
Russian volume is the technique behind every “how are her lashes so full?” moment. Instead of one extension per lash, your artist creates a fan of three to six lashes — each just 0.05 mm thick — and wraps its base around a single natural lash. Multiply that across 90–120 natural lashes per eye and you get darkness and density that no classic set can reach.
Done badly, volume is how natural lashes get wrecked; done properly, the total weight per lash stays below what a single 0.15 mm classic extension weighs. That maths is exactly why we insist on a lash-strength assessment before your first volume set.

Quick answers
- Usually yes — and sometimes safer than classics, since fine fans distribute weight. The assessment decides; if your lashes need building up first, we’ll say so and suggest a lift meanwhile.
- Only if you ask for the densest map. Standard 3D–4D volume reads as luxurious, not costume — think bridal, not stage.
- Time and skill. Your artist hand-builds several hundred fans in one sitting; it’s the most technically demanding service on our menu.
